ni hao.
right now, i am picking up a language i should have picked up a long long time ago. i realized its importance ages ago, however never had the time or motivation to get help. of course people like jia li, yu tat and ru wei have been driving me crazy trying to make me speak. finally i am trying. :)
the other stuff keeping me locked at home most days, besides vanny, is my new craze. rather, my new crazes.
beadwork, believe me, besides being aunty and all, is a nice TV watching hobby. while you watch TV, you feed the spool of wire with beads and then make them into funny things. actually it started with this book i’ve had since forever. off and on, i’d take the book out and do an odd project or two. now mom got me something else… bead candy canes and other christmas ornaments. of course there are bead flowers and stuff… but ah, that’s boring… (not to mention, too difficult for my short attention span to handle).
the other thing was gardening. i think i’ve mentioned it, but not in a more elaborate fashion. i decided in a spur of mania, to check out a flower shop near my house. it was pretty new and there were so many pretty flowers, i just needed to go see. not too bad, affordable, and the lady was friendly and informative (she is currently my Plant Doctor). came home with three pots of flowers. that was how it started. mom picked up my new founded enthusiasm and surfed for rock garden how-tos. so finally got it all done. went to Sg. Buloh for the plants, paid a hefty sum for ROCKS… (imagine that… stuff people curse when they hit against it, and i pay money for it!) broke my back bringing soil, arranging rocks and planting. you know how awful i am at arranging flowers and plants… and this time i was digging and redigging and shifting things around. finally what i landed with was just nice, to me of course… :)
every morning i wake up to look at the garden. there is a bench of untreated, unfinished wood which Pa is supposed to fix, so i’d sit there and look at the flowers, the new buds (an appreciative reminder that what i am doing is right), a butterfly or two, and just thanking Him for something so wonderful, yet so taken for granted… :)
